CUCM Management affected CUCM 11.5(1) – Case Sensitivity

In case you are hit with this bug the solution is very simple, but asks the question, is it really necessary creating the UserID in AD with a combination of UPPER CASE and lower case?

Here is the Scenario

CUCM implementation of 11.5(1) with AD/LDAP authentication, once users are synced with LDAP you proceed to assign Power Users under End User Administration. All is fine but such users have their user ID as follows:
AD UserID: WUser

The Issue

User logs in with: wuser –> nothing seems wrong with this so far, but then the Power User will notice limitations on his/her ability to perform basic tasks, such as creating a user or assign Roles to users.

Case sensitivity matters on CUCM 11.5(1)

A quick way to find out is to verify this on how the user shows in the EndUser Database (CUCM)

The buttons for Add to Access Control Group will not be there

The solution

Instruct Power Users to login with the credentials the way they show on the CUCM End User Database.

Upgrade to a newer version of CUCM that does not have the issue, as per the Cisco BUGID:
