No voice-port when using NIM-1CE1T1-PRI – From Cisco Support community

I love the Cisco Support community, and credit should be given to all the people out there that work very hard on UC and Collaboration.

Last night I was trying to turn up a PRI (Yeah, old technology right?) – So a client is terminating a PRI back to back with their equipment and on my CUBE router (ISR4331) I’m terminating the PRI and sending the calls to IPFLEX, sound like fun!

The Issue

I already have my template and was just trying to enter the Port # on my Dial-Peers but the port was failing. I found out that the voice-port 0/1/0:23 was not there in the config!!!

I looked in Google using this “No voice-port when using NIM-1CE1T1-PRI” – because I’m using this type of Card, I thought it had to be with something related to the card.

The Solution

I found the following Cisco Support Community Post from silvakizir – So thank you silvakizir for sharing the information.

Under the controller do the following:

controller T1 0/1/0
pri-group timeslots 1-24 voice-dsp

The keyword here is the Voice-dsp — after that the port came up!

What to look forward to?

Because of things like this that I keep finding in the Cisco Support Community, Personal and Technical Blog, that is the reason I keep on writting all my findings. I know that at some point somebody will use them.

  1. Your site looks great but I did notice that the word “Traning” appears to be spelled incorrectly. I saw a couple small issues like this. I thought you would like to know!

In case you wanted to fix it, in the past we’ve used services from a websites like HelloSpell.com to keep our site error-free.
