Introduction to CyberSecEngineer Blog

I have recently started a class on CyberSecurity offered by Cisco, and have been hooked into the material and the things that this class offers.

If you know me, you will know that I have always been a hybrid engineer, I have done few things from Network, Security, Data Center and Collaboration. With the last one being what I specialize on and what I’d like to call the profession that pays my bills 🙂

The Security landscape is huge, impressive and very sexy for me, an engineer/architect that still want to keep learning new concepts and new things.

Off course, you know that I have also been incorporating in my way of learning a concept, something that validates my knowledge and that something is Certifications, I have passed quite a few of them and have always helped me put a foot in the door to start a business conversation.

What to expect from CybersecEngineer.com

This blog has been created to log all things that I have been learning and also to document new concepts, which sometimes are hard to make them stick in your mind.

Is this a Certifications oriented blog or something like it?

A certifications section will be created, and will apply for multiple Vendors, like Fortinet, Palo Alto, CheckPoint and Cisco, this blog is not a certification oriented blog, however, lots of the information that you will see here will be related to me working my way on few certifications out there, I have some of those posts in my CollabEngineer Blog – which I should be migrating pretty soon to this blog

Is this stuff going to be all Cisco stuff?

Well, I’m a Cisco fanboy and it will be hard not to use Cisco to compare to other technologies, also I’m on my way to achieving Expert Level in the Security certification.

The information as it presents and all the blog posts will be a combination of Open Source Technologies, Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Checkpoint and many other Security technologies out there.

Of course, as long as I can test and demo-play with all their stuff, I will favor the technologies that are easier to get access to. So if you are a vendor either Big or Small out there, feel free to reach out, I will definitely want to get in touch.
